Iwao no Izumi Ginjo Junmaishu
It is known for its clear yet refined sweetness and umami derived from rice. It also goes well with sashimi, tempura, and nabe.
Shimizu Shuzo brewery was established in 1751, which makes it the oldest sake brewery in Kanagawa Prefecture. When asked about what makes the brewery unique, Keita Shimizu, the director of the brewery, answered with a smile, “We are just a small, traditional sake brewery in the mountains of Kanagawa Prefecture, surrounded by a lot of lakes.” The quality of the sake brewed by this small sake brewery is certain. Its representative brand, “Iwao no Izumi,” has won many awards from domestic and international public organizations, including the Monde Selection Gold Medal for five consecutive years (1996-2000), and has also been certified as a recommended product.
