Day 1

① Shiroyama Dam

Shiroyama Dam is one of the dams located in Sagamihara. It is the water jar of Kanagawa Prefecture. The dam crest is part of the Japan National Route 413. It is also called Shiroyama-ohashi Bridge. Dam being used as part of national route is rare even in Japan.

② Kanagawa Prefectural Lake Tsukui Shiroyama Park

It is a park with both historic mood and natural beauty. In the shores of Lake Tsukui, there are “Water Garden” and “Flower Garden”. Moreover, there are many remnants from Sengoku period to Muromachi period. Many people visit this huge park to sightsee blossom in Spring, enjoy cool in Summer, see red leaves in Autumn.

③ Ooyatakashishuzou

Ooyatakashishuzou is founded in 1830 and has been using subterranean water from Tanzawa to make jizake (local Sake). The feature of this brewery is that is only use original ingredients which are rice and malted rice to make pure Sake.

④ Kappo Ryokan Gohonmatsu

Kappo Ryokan Gohonmatsu where you can enjoy the view of  Bijotani River is blessed with natural environment. Guests can spend a relaxing time there. Hinoki wood bath is for reservation. Guests can enjoy it with privacy.

Day 2

① Obarajuku Honjin

Honjin was an inn for important people in Edo period. Obaeajuku Honjin is the only remaining honjin among the 26 honjin’s in Kanagawa.It is designated as Important Cultural Property by Kanagawa Prefecture.

② Sagami Dam

Sagami Dam was established in 1947 and it is consist of the biggest Lake Sagami which is the biggest artificial lake. Just like Shiroyama Dam, it is also a water jar of Kanagawa Prefecture.

③ Sagamiko Kinenkan

It is a museum where you can learn about history and nature of Lake Sagami and the roles of Sagami Dam.  By the concept of water’s circle, it is divided into 4 zones which are Lake, Street, Sea and Forrest. It is a spot where everyone can enjoy.

④ Shimizu Shuzo

Shimizu Shuzo is founded in 1751 and it is the oldest brewery in Kanagawa. When we asked what is special about Shimizu Shuzo,  Shimizu Keita director, who is director of Shimizu Shuzo, smiled and said” It is a small brewery that is blessed with many water sources (lakes) in Kanagawa’s mountains.”
