Kanei Shuzoten was established in 1868. It is a sake brewery that maintains its traditional style while boldly challenging new and interesting things, such as introducing the “Mozart” series, which is a famous sake made by playing Mozart’s music to the koji mold. Mr. Sano, the managing director, said he wanted to make sake in a fun way and have people enjoy it without thinking about difficult things.

It is a Junmai-shu (pure rice wine) that's recommended for daily consumption. It has a strong and rich taste which goes well with red fish and grilled fish.
For those who are interested in the sake brewery tour, reservations are required by phone in advance. (8:50 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except Sundays and public holidays).
