Since its establishment in 1789, the Inoue Shuzo brewery has been brewing sake for more than 200 years for seven generations. The secret of their long success is that they have been able to keep up with the needs of the times and produce sake that fits the demands.More than 50 years ago, the brewery started to expand its business overseas, and as a result of many considerations and trial and error there, “Hakoneyama” was born. Hakoneyama, named after Hakone, one of Japan’s representative and world-famous tourist destinations, which can be seen from the Inoue Shuzo brewery, continues to be one of the brewery’s representative brands even today. In recent years, the brewery has become highly conscious of the SDGs, and 100% of the electricity used for sake brewing is from renewable energy sources.
