What makes Kawanishiya unique is that it brews all of its sake with junmaishu (pure rice sake). The brewery’s mission is to produce a high-quality Kanzake (warmed sake) and to further boost the popularity of sake as a drink to enjoy with food.Kawanishiya Syuzoten’s president, Mr. Tsuyuki, said that it delights him when the rice carefully grown by the farmers is fermented, aged for a long time, and turned into a sake that perfectly matches a delicious meal.The photo of the rice field landscape below shows the cultivation of Ashigara Wakamizu (a rice perfect for sake brewing) in the Ashigara Plain since the 1980s.

Tanzawasan Reiho is the flagship of Kawanishiya's aged junmaishu (pure rice sake) that is delicious when heated. Serve with Japanese dishes with dashi (Japanese soup stock) to experience the fullness of flavor and the crisp taste.
